The beaches of Protaras -
arguably amongst the finest in Cyprus

Fig Tree Bay is probably the
best known of the beaches in Protaras.
The beach itself is an extensive stretch of beautiful sands
bordered by the immaculate azure waters of the Mediterranean
Sea.
Consequently, this fabulous stretch of coast offers all the
water sports one’s heart could desire, as well as a wide
selection of tavernas, restaurants and bars within easy strolling
distance.
Protaras town centre is also within easy reach of Fig Tree
Bay.
It is noteworthy that a few of the tavenas scattered around
the bay side boast very high reputations as being the finest
source of traditional Cypriot cuisine in this region of the
island.

Pernera Beach is located some two kilometres north of
the resort proper.
This small sub community offers around a dozen or so bars,
as well as a number of and eateries clustered within a hundred
yards of the fantastic beach.
Although not as well known as Fig Tree Bay beach, Pernera beach
is nevertheless well worth a visit since it is usually less
crowded than the former whilst offering many of the same facilities
and water sports.
Here too, as is the case with most of the beaches in Cyprus,
you will find a number of hotels and hotel apartments relatively
near to the Mediterranean.

Konnos Bay is set on the fringes of the scenic Cape Greko
and is arguably one of the most beautiful bays in Cyprus.
On a slightly different note, no visitor to Protaras should
pass up an opportunity to see the Cape which features some
of the most stunning rock formations found in Cyprus.
Konnos beach itself is substantially smaller than its neighbours
further north.
This should not however deter you from paying a visit to Konnos
Bay, since the sheer natural splendour of the surroundings
more than compensates for its lack of size.
Once again, waters sports and a number of restaurants and
hotels can be found within strolling distance of the beach,
making this an ideal venue for an all-day beach visit.
